Sparking Start
I know that it is the begining of the season, but I can’t help and get excited at the start of the season. With a offseason that felt 3 years long and contract talk with Manny that seem to last 10 years. I feel that the start we have had is a perfect start toward a season that I can’t help but smile for. Even though Manny didn’t start with a bang, I think that it could be a blessing in a disguise. Our hitting has been on fire, and we have proven to the non believers that our power can more than just Manny. Andre Either has been steady, so has been James Loney.
The person though, who to me is the man of the hour so far, is Matt Kemp. I feel that he has become comfortable and a perfect fit to have the Dodgers become the a scoring team that we have missed for quite a while. I look at the lineup only to see someone like Casey Blake in spot 8, WOW. I understand that right now other than the pitcher spot and Russell Martin in a slump, well… compared to the rest of the line up, we have feared line up.
I even have to say that our pitching has been even more satisfactory than I gave it credit for. I still feel that come trade deadline time we should add a strong starter pitcher to make a strong line up, but I do feel that our offense will help out till we can add. Don’t get me wrong I think that Kruoda, when he become heathy again, Billingsley, and Kershaw are 3 great pitchers but I still have a question on Wolf and McDonald. Wolf I think highly of, but I do worry about how consistant he can be. McDonald is young, and I feel come next year, will be a strong pitcher in the line up. I just worry about too many disappointing outings could effect his confidence. And finally as far as pitching, Broxton…..that is all i got to say about him, that is one man that speaks for himself. So until next time, GO BLUE, or go home!
